TransLink has partnered with Modo Co-op car share and the Liftango ride-matching app to operate the Vanpool Program. The program provides an additional option for people to get to work while increasing the number of car share vehicles in the region.
The project was to develop vehicle branding for the Vanpool Program. The designated vehicles are not exclusive to the program and thus, must be easily recognizable to both Vanpool and Modo members. Following initial concepts, the project team requested to integrate the TransLink and Modo logos.
As you can see, we went through a number of explorations before landing on a modern and clean look. Drawing inspiration from the shapes and colours of the two logos, I wanted to create a simple yet bold design. The line is meant to reflect movement and connection, while the dots represent people and places. For the back of the vehicles, we opted to only use the standard logos without the additional design elements due to space restrictions.
