Choco Tribe is an up-and-coming, bean-to-bar chocolate maker. Their vision is to bring people together through chocolate. They produce small batch craft chocolate, using the finest cacao beans sourced worldwide. Using only cacao and sugar, their mission is to make the best chocolate possible using the highest-quality ingredients.
Their latest selection features 80%, 90% and 100% dark chocolate, which are crafted from the rare Gran Nativo Blanco cacao beans grown in the Piura region of Peru.
Gran Nativo Blanco is characterized by a variety of delicate flavors such as sweet acidity fruits, herbal floral infusions, nuts like walnuts, sweet malt, and dark fruits like prunes. I wanted to showcase the unique flavor profile of the chocolate by creating vibrant and eye-catching designs. Inspired by Art Deco and tribal art, the colors and shapes reflect the complexity hidden within every bite.
Using Illustrator and Photoshop, I designed individual packaging for the three types of dark chocolate, each showcasing a unique pattern and particular accent color. The client also requested a design for a gift box.
For this particular design, I wanted to pay tribute to the color of dark chocolate, while also giving a glimpse of what is inside. The dark brown beautifully contrasts the colors and the writing, making the gift box stand out. The pattern on the gift box uses elements from the individual packaging creating a connection and consistency across the products. I chose the color gold for its subtle elegance, yet eye-catching nature. Passionate, inviting , friendly, and positive, I wanted to make sure the designs capture everyone's attention.
For the launch of the new product, I created a number of social media (Instagram Posts and Stories) and print ads. The designs are clean, allowing the rich, vibrant colours of the packaging to capture the viewer's attention. I chose simple, yet meaningful phrases to help the brand connect with the audience. There is a sense of exclusivity if you join the Choco Tribe community.
